Update: Coteau Utility Outages
Due to the heavy, ongoing downpour, a large tree has fallen in the Coteau area Tuesday Dec 2nd. This fall has damaged all utility lines on poles adjacent to the tree. This has caused outages for three other utility companies, one power and two internet providers. As of Thursday afternoon, repairs of all three utility providers has not been completed with service restored.
Cajun Broadband's Coteau storm ready underground fiber network was undisturbed and continued operation. This fiber project built in 2023 with the support of Iberia Parish Government.
When considering the weather we experience in Louisiana, it is important to note that, thanks to buried fiber optic lines, all such damages can be prevented. Buried utilities are protected from high winds, lightning, and fallen trees.
Stay safe and be storm ready with Cajun Broadband.
